‘Carmen la Cubana’ in Paris
Joel Prieto sings the role of Jose in a spectacular production of Carmen la Cubana, on stage this spring at the Théâtre du Châtelet. This work, the first Cuban musical, is based on the opera Carmen by Bizet as well as the novel by Prosper Mérimée. The piece is set in Havana, and features Luna Manzanares Nardo in the title role, with musical direction by Manny Schvartzman and staging/choreography from Roclan Gonzalez Chavez. Performances take place April 6, 8, 9, 10, 12-17, 19-22, 24-28 & 30.
